11:30 AM - 12:45 PM

This course will examine a common tactic by Plaintiff’s counsel in employment lawsuits—namely the inclusion of additional “tag along” torts which, although typically arising within the workplace setting, are separate and distinct from the employment claims themselves. Such claims can also carry additional/enhanced measures of damages and may trigger additional insurance policies. Participants in the program will learn about these increasingly-used techniques, how best to prevent them, and defending against them in court.

Speakers:
Dion Cominos / Partner, GRSM
Linda Moroney / Partner, GRSM

12:55 PM - 1:55 PM

Over the last several years, the landscape of the class action practice area has seen a lot of movement and volatility with a split of opinions on issues in both state and federal courts. Speakers will discuss the most controversial issues which have drawn the attention of employment law practitioners and have caused some strife for California employers.
